Škoda Auto chief-designer moves to BMW

594948-top_foto1-d3u60Josef Kabaň has decided to leave the Volkswagen Group and ink a deal with the German car maker where he will be responsible for designing models of the main BMW brand within the team of the BMW Group’s chief designer Adrian van Hooydonk. He will replace Canadian desginer Karim Habib who left BMW in December. During his career at the VW Group Kabaň designed several important models including Audi Q5 or his masterpiece Bugatti Veyron. Since 2008 when he came to Škoda Auto, Kabaň changed the design of all the Czech brand’s models. Kabaň was considered to become the chief designer od the entire VW Group but recently had to defend his work after the controversial facelift of Škoda Octavia.
